What would Tara Hills Elementary lose without a PTA?

We Need You to Join the PTA! Tara Hills is a great school with great teachers! Our membership is down this year and it puts our PTA in jeopardy of not coming back next year!! The school would lose out on many activities if that happens!  There are no extra requirements in being a member of PTA, you are not required to volunteer or come to more events than you want to. We LOVE our volunteers and the children LOVE to see their parents at the school but we realize that isn’t possible for all families! If you are interested in finding out more please email us! Most of our activities and meeting times are flexible. If you do want to get involved but don’t think you have the time, we really can find times to make it work for YOU!

Our PTA does more than fundraise or bring programs and activities to our school, your membership helps us advocate with the local, state and federal governments to improve the educational system and laws for all children.

Membership is only $12/person/year and we use the money to help pay for some of our activities and to give us a voice in the district.

Activities Tara Hills Elementary Would Lose If There Was No PTA:

  • Art Night
  • Thanksgiving Potluck
  • Bingo Night
  • Movie Nights
  • In School Assemblies ex. Lawrence Hall of Science
  • Science Night
  • Field Trips (out of school and in class)
  • Teacher supplies
  • The list goes on…

Pay for your membership and keep up with activities on our Website. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Why should you become a PTA member? The main reason is to benefit your child and make their school a better place. Below are many great benefits to becoming a PTA member.

  • Our Students, Children, Grandchildren- Having a PTA helps to provide the students with activities that are engaging, fun, educational, enriching and students look forward to coming to school to engage in these fun activities! Remember being a student and having assemblies and how much fun they were? Our students are experiencing that now and they faces say it all when they are having a blast!

  • Get Connected- There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school!

  • Discover Great Resources- The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

  • Tap into a Network- PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

  • Watch Yourself Grow- By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

  •  Have a voice - PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

  • Witness Improvement- By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social events.

  • Be a Role Model- By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
